When I train, I S.W.I.M. but the only reason that I get wet is from being soaked in sweat.
S.W.I.M. is what it takes psychologically to achieve a goal. It stands for:
S – Self Control – What it takes pass up on foods that will work against you, such as cookies and ice cream. What it takes to stay committed.
W- Willpower – Simple as doing cardio when you are supposed to and tough as finishing what you started. Going the extra mile (sometimes literally).
I – Inspiration – Being influenced by someone or something, that reminds you of your goals and also helps you create them. Noticing what someone else has achieved and using that to set a similar goal.
M- Motivation – Taking action to achieve your goals and building off of both positive and negative reinforcement. Before pictures are great motivators. Being called a fat jolly guy can also led to motivation. Dropping 3 inches off of your waist will definitely increase your motivation.
3 factors made me achieve my goals. 1)S.W.I.M. 2) Nutrition 3) Training (weights and cardio). Prior to this I lived by 3 factors, but I was missing something. 1) Nutrition 2) Lifted Weights 3) Cardio. Without the psychological aspect I could not have achieved the benefits of my program. I finally became honest with myself and accepted the fact that I either needed to get out of the gym or make it count.

Andrew, you didn’t really say what you have tried or are doing now. But it would be good to do some resistance training (weights), cardio and eat 6 controlled healthy portions a day. Check out the information on this link and let me know if you have any questions. https://evolvemylife.com/?s=nutritional+guidelines
